World Postpartum Haemorrhage Day

As part of collective action to end postpartum haemorrhage (PPH), FIGO, ICM and several partners are declaring 5 October as World Postpartum Haemorrhage Day – a new moment to raise awareness, mobilise action and accelerate progress in preventing maternal deaths from PPH.
Officially launching during the President’s session on the first day of the FIGO 2025 World Congress, World Postpartum Haemorrhage Day is part of a landmark movement, established through the PPH Roadmap, to bring an end to excessive bleeding after childbirth.
We encourage all of our member societies to observe the inaugural World Postpartum Haemorrhage Day.
To find out more about the moment and download resources you can use to develop your own activities and communications, visit the dedicated Trello board via the link below. More content will be added to the site over the coming days.
And keep an eye on FIGO’s website and social channels for updates on our celebrations this Sunday 5 October.
